Inputs to Manage Comm: COWE - Communications Mgmt Plan
plan describes how project communications will be planned, structured, monitored, and controlled.
Inputs to Manage Comm: COWE - OPA
Policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines regarding communications management;
Templates; and
Historical information and lessons learned.
Inputs to Manage Comm: COWE - WPI
collection of project performance and status information that may be used to facilitate discussion and to create communications. To optimize this process, it is important that reports be comprehensive, accurate, and available in a timely manner.
Inputs to Manage Comm: COWE - EEF
Organizational culture and structure,
Government or industry standards and regulations, and
Project management information system.
TT to Manage comm: PICs of CCs - Performance reporting
act of collecting and distributing performance information, including status reports, progress measurements, and forecasts. involves the periodic collection and analysis of baseline versus actual data to understand and communicate the project progress and performance as well as to forecast the project results. Will need to gauge appropriate level for each audience - percent complete, status dashboards for scope schedule cost quality.
TT to Manage comm: PICs of CCs - Information mgmt systems
Project information is managed and distributed using a variety of tools, including: Hard-copy document management: letters, memos, reports, and press releases;
Electronic communications management: e-mail, fax, voice mail, telephone, video and web conferencing, websites, and web publishing; and
Electronic project management tools: web interfaces to scheduling and project management software, meeting and virtual office support software, portals, and collaborative work management tools.
TT to Manage comm: PICs of CCs - Communications technology
choice of communication technology is an important consideration. focus is to ensure that the choice is appropriate for the information that is being communicated.
TT to Manage comm: PICs of CCs - Communications models
choice of the communication model is appropriate for the project that is undertaken and that any barriers (noise) are identified and managed.
TT to Manage comm: PICs of CCs - Communications methods
focus is to ensure that the information that has been created and distributed has been received and understood to enable response and feedback.
Outputs to Manage Comm: POPcorn and Pee - Project Communications
performance reports, deliverables status, schedule progress, and cost incurred. influenced by factors such as, but not limited to, the urgency and impact of the message, its method of delivery, and level of confidentiality.
Outputs to Manage Comm: POPcorn and Pee - OPA updates
Stakeholder notifications. Information may be provided to stakeholders about resolved issues, approved changes, and general project status. Project reports, presentations, records, feedack from stakeholders. Lessons learned - causes of issues, reasoning behind corrective action chosen, other types of lessons learned about communications mgmt.
Outputs to Manage Comm: POPcorn and Pee - Project mgmt plan updates
provides information on project baselines, communications management, and stakeholder management. require updates based upon the current performance of the project against the performance measurement baseline (PMB). deviations are measured for management control. typically integrates scope, schedule, and cost parameters of a project, but may also include technical and quality parameters.
Outputs to Manage Comm: POPcorn and Pee - Project doc updates
Issue log,
Project schedule, and
Project funding requirements.
