Q

Melting and boiling point of a polymer

A

The melting and boiling point of a polymer is higher than those of simple covalent molecules because they have strong intermolecular forces of attraction between the molecules meaning more energy need to be used to break the bonds.

This is also the reason why they are solid at room temperature.
