Origin, course,and termination of popliteal artery

A

Origin- continuation of femoral artery at the adductor hiatus
Course- deeper structure on popliteal surface, capsule of knee joint and popliteus
Termination- at distal border of popliteus by dividing into anterior tibial and posterior tibial arteries

A

Origin-terminal branch of sciatic nerve
Landmark- most superficial structure
Termination- continues in th back of leg as tibial nerve
Branches- sural nerve(only cutaneous nerve), muscular branches(gastrocnemius, plantaris, soles, popliteus) 3 articular branches

Origin, landmark, termination and branches of common peroneal nerve

A

Origin- terminal branch of sciatic nerve
Landmark-runs along medial border of biceps femoris in popliteal fossa
Termination-divides to superficial and deep peroneal nerves at neck of fibula
Branches- sural communicating nerve and lateral cutaneous nerve of the calf, 3 articular branches
