calculated by subtracting the death rate from the birth rate

the tendency for population to grow despite a fall in birth rate or fertility levels.

predictions about the future based on fertility, mortality and migration

average number of births per thousand women in childbearing age
Life expectancy
average number of years a person can be excepted to live to usually from birth

gender related development index which measures the inequality between the sexes in life expectancy, education and the standard of living
level of education
the more highly educated the parents are the fewer children they will have
Location of residence
people in rural areas tend to have ore children than those in urban areas
religion
most religions are pro natalist which means they have larger families
health of the mother
healthier mother = less children than unhealthy women
economic prosperity
the richer the family the less children they will have.
