Grape
white: loureiro (most planted), Trajadura, Alvarinho

Location: N portugal along the Douro river (Duero)
climate: 3 sub-regions, each with very different climate
changes and become drier and hotter as you move inland from the atlantic ocean
topo: mountainous, rugged, wild and remove
soil: schist (top vineyards)
grape: red: tourigo nacional (+many indigenous varieties)
viti: ++ steep, terraced vineyards along the banks of the Douro
single vineyards (“quintas”)
vini: rich, dry, ripe, powerful red wines
wines are usually a blend of many grapes
