Position and motion Flashcards

(11 cards)

1
Q

2
Q

Why do we need to create our own reference point?

A

Because everything in the universe is constantly in motion, so we can only determine the qualities of things in relation to each other.

Q

What is the difference between distance and displacement?

A

They are both measures of change. Distance considers the actual path taken, whilst displacement is the different in position between two points. Distance is a scalar quality, whilst displacement is a vector quality.
