I Lateral Aspect of the Greater Trochanter of the Femur
As ALL Thigh @ Hip Joint
ALL Fibers: ABduction
Anterior Fibers: Flexion & Internal Rotation
Posterior Fibers: Extension & External Rotation
Gluteus Minimus OIAs
O External Ilium bet/the Anterior & Inferior Gluteal Lines
I Anterior Aspect of the Greater Trochanter
As ALL Actions Thigh @ the Hip
ALL Fibers: ABduction
Anterior Fibers: Flexion & Internal Rotation
Posterior Fibers: Extension & External Rotation
Piriformis OIAs
O Internal Sacrum
I Superior Aspect of the Greater Trochanter of the Femur
As External Rotation of the Thigh @ the Hip Joint & ABduction of the Thigh @ the Hip Joint When the Hip is Flexed
“Lateral Rotators” (location, orientation & primary action)
Deep to Gluteus Maximus, mostly Horizontal line of pull to stabilize the pelvic girdle. Primary action is External Rotation
