What is a difference between book and movie in the “Pasquale” episode in Gomorrah?
Movie: Pasquale sees Scarlett Johansson on the TV wearing the dress he has been making while he is at the gas station rest stop. He is already a truck driver at this point. He quit his job because the factory boss found out he was helping the Chinese. The car with him and the Chinese got shot at to try and kill Pasquale by the Camorra but he survives. He quits in the hospital to the factory boss and says he’s been used since he was a kid and is done and he’s mad at his boss.
Book: He quits because he is mad at the system (the big brands in Milan) (34) after he sees Angelina Jolie wearing his dress. “Pasquale still remembers the day he’d gone t the port to pick u the fabric…He couldn’t tell anyone, couldn’t even whisper as he read the local newspaper the next morning. No one would believe that Angelina Jolie would go to the Academy Awards wearing an outfit made in Arzano by Pasquale…millions of dollars and 600 euros a month.” Pasquale quits because he is underpaid and pissed at the camorra and the system, not his factory direct boss
