What is the abstract and what does it include
- summary of the research, outlining the aim,method,participants,results and conclusions
What is the introduction and what does it include
- considers the area of psychology in which the study is located in and focuses on previous research which has been carried out in the same area
-identify the aim of the research
Either null or alternative hypothesis at end
What is the method and what does it include
-lengthy section that includes all the details necessary for someone to be able to carry it out exactly in the same conditions as the research
Includes
- Sample
- experimental design
- procedure
What is the results and what does it include
Refer to the raw data and provide verbal summaries and descriptive statistics such as measured of central tendency
Graphs
Acceptance or reactance of null/alternative hypothesis
What is the discussionand what does it include
Focuses on what the study has discovered relating it to the research in the introduction
Includes:
Evaluation
Alternative explanations
New ideas to pursue
What is the appendices and what does it include
-any relevant materials used from the study
E.g calculations raw data graphs
Anything else needed to understand and repeat the research
What is the refernces and what does it include
Any work that is used from any other author is referenced
