What does the thyroid gland do?
The thyroid gland release thyroxine directly into the blood. Thyroxine then travels into the bloodstream to its target organ

What does the pituitary gland do?
The pituitary gland produced the hormones that act on other glands. This directs the glands to release hormones which bring about change
Why does a certain attribute become more common in a species population using the idea of natural selection?
A mutation occurs which gives the species a better survival factor. These animals live to reproduce. The genes for this better survival factor will be passed onto the next generation.
