- Players must have knowledge and skill level required
State aspects to WHOLE PRACTICE
- More advanced players
- Allows increased kinaesthetic feel
- Suited to high-organisational skills
Describe PROGRESSIVE PRACTICE
- Skills broken into subroutines
- Once one SBR is learnt, it links with the next part of the sequence

- Increased confidence for beginners
What is the DISADVANTAGE to PART PRACTICE?

What are the 4 main STRUCTURES of PRACTICE?
- Massed
- Variable
- Fixed
- Distributed
Describe MASSED PRACTICE
When is it used?
- Long duration sesh with no breaks
- Performers must have elite conditioning and good intrinsic FB to readjust performance if needed
- Mainly used pre-season endurance events
Why is MASSED PRACTICE good?
Tests skills when fatigued
Describe VARIABLE PRACTICE
- Involves a variety of activities to mimic a comp environment
Why is VARIABLE PRACTICE good?
- Tests skills in a changing environment
- Can be used at different skill levels (novice learning fund. or elites)
Describe FIXED PRACTICE
- Repeating a skill many times to ‘over-learn’ and develop a specific motor-programme
Why is FIXED PRACTICE good?
- Good for closed skills
- Good for novices to learn fund.
Describe DISTRIBUTED PRACTICE
- Session broken down into diff sections
- Focusing on various parts of a skill in 1 session
Why is DISTRIBUTED PRACTICE good?
- Found to be more effective than Massed in comparison
- Can be many short sesh a week otherwise
