What is the primary purpose of a discharge summary?

Gallstones (cholelithiasis):
solid deposits that form within the gallbladder. Depending on the size and location of the stones, the patient may be asymptomatic or require medical intervention.
Cholecystitis:
inflammation of the gallbladder caused by gallstones or other factors.
Cystolithiasis:
refers to the presence of urinary stones within the urinary bladder.
Hepatolithiasis:
presence of stones within the bile ducts of the liver.
Systemic circulation:
Carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the body tissues. Returns deoxygenated blood from body tissues to the lungs.
Coronary circulation:
Refers to the blood flow within the heart itself, supplying the heart muscle (myocardium) with oxygen and nutrients.
Pulmonary circulation:
Carries deoxygenated blood from the heart’s right ventricle to the lungs for oxygenation. Returns oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart’s left atrium.
Peripheral circulation:
blood flow in body extremities like arms and legs. It is part of systemic circulation but does not specifically describe the process of transporting oxygenated blood to tissues and deoxygenated blood back to the heart.
To prepare for a spirometry test, the MA should advise the patient to:

A measure of how quickly red blood cells settle to the bottom of a tube in a period of one hour. A non-specific test that can indicate the presence of inflammation or infection in the body.
Red blood cell count:
A measure of the TOTAL NUMBER OF RED BLOOD CELLS in a given volume of blood. Standard lab test, part of a CBC.
Hemoglobin:
A protein found in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body.
Time-specified scheduling, also called stream scheduling:
involves scheduling patients for a specific amount of time at a specific day and time. Most common form of scheduling.
