A
- a system in which multiple political groups and interests compete for influence over government policy
- this included pressure groups and lobbyists

A
the funding of political campaigns and elections including contributions from interest groups, individuals, PACs, super PACs

A
- ## the relationship between congressional committees, government agencies and interest groups that lead to policy decisions favouring a specific industry or sector

A
- groups that promote a specific cause or ideology rather than seeking direct economic benefits
- e.g. environmental or human rights groups

- organisations that seek to influence public policy to benefit there members or causes
- can include promotional groups
- e.g. Amnesty international (campaign to end human rights abuses)

what are political action committees (PACs)
A
- organisations that raise and spend money to support or oppose candidates
- subject to contribution limits set by the law
- e.g. Never Back Down Inc 5 mil donation to republicans 2024

what are Super PAC’s
A
- independent expenditure-only committees that can raise unlimited funds from individuals, corporations and unions
- cannot coordinate directly with candidates
- e.g. Make America Great Again Inc raised 376,000,000 in 2024
