1
Q
State the ways that heat travel through solids, gases and liquids.
A
Conduction, Convention and Radiation
2
Q
Explain the processes of conduction and convection.
A
Conduction occurs due to the passing of energy between to object touching each other directly passing the heat energy.
Convection occurs as the source of the heat expands the fluid or gas causing it to expand, becoming less dense and rising, and after a bit of time it loses the heat energy and becomes denser and goes back down, and the cycle repeats for as long as the heat energy is passed on.
3
Q
List some examples of everyday heat transfer
A
Conduction - cooking
Convection - boiling water
Sun to person when outside - Radiation
