What causes differences in pitch?

A

It depends on the frequency waves. A high frequency wave means a higher sound while a low frequency results in a lower sound.

What causes differences in loudness?

A

Amplitude causes the difference in loudness as the bigger or the larger the amplitude is the louder the sound is while the smaller the amplitude is the quieter the sound is.

A

As sound travels through different mediums the speed in which they travel vary due to how compact the medium might be not allowing it to get through well or not pass through it at all.
