What does development describe?
Development describes the acquisition of skills and abilities through the life stages.
What is intellectual/cognitive development?
Intellectual/cognitive development is the development of language, memory, and thinking skills.

Physical development refers to growth and other physical changes that happen to our body throughout life.

Emotional development is the ability to cope with feelings about ourselves and towards others.

Development is observed and cannot be measured in the same way as growth.
