Problem: Difficulty inserting an earmold or ear shell

A

Solution:
Re-instruction on how to insert the earmold describing land marks on the aid/earmold

Modification of the ear mold e.g. removal of the helix lock

Patient might have to be taught to pull the pinna upwards and outwards with the opposite hand while putting the aid/mold in with the ipsilateral hand

Problem: Difficulty locating or using a control

A

Solution:
Volume controls in ITE, ITC can be made more prominent with add-on caps

One of the controls can be removed or delegated to one aid (e.g. the left aid for volume right aid for programs)

A remote control can be added

Solution

Look to see where the mold/shell is pressing against canal and grind away that part of the mold/shell to make a better fit
