Q

What are the steps/questions to clearing SMR with CCR?

A

Do you have any N/T in hands/feet?
Any pain in C-spine?
If yes -> was it immediate or delayed?
Check if pain is directly on C-spine or off to the side in soft tissue - palpate if necessary
Check for normal strength in all extremities.
If all clear, ask patient to slowly move their neck 45 degrees in each direction under their own power, and stop if there is an increase in pain/blockage/grinding

Q

What is the step by step process for the GCS?

A

Say their name and ask if they can hear you. Rate ‘eyes’ depending on when or if they open their eyes
Ask them to tell you where they are/score of the game/something where they have to respond - this is for ‘speech/verbal’
Ask them to perform a motor movement - thumbs up, wiggle toe, etc. If they do, 6 - if not, painful response. Response to pain is rated
