Glittering Generalities
Use of virtue words, links a person to a positive idea
Transfer
A propagandist links he authority or prestige of something well respected
Testimonial
A public figure or a celebrity endorses a certain product
Plain folks
Attempt to convince the audience that a prominent person and his ideas are of “the people”
Bandwagon
Aka the appeal that “everyone else is doing it so should you”
Fear
Plays on deep seated fears, warns the audience that disaster will occur if they don’t follow a particular course of action
Bad logic
An illogical message is not necessarily propagandistic, but an illogical mistake
Unwarranted extrapolation
Making huge predictions on the future n the bias of a few small facts

The use of a variety of communication techniques to create an emotional appeal to accept a particular belief
