Q

True or false ?
Ibliss used to be an angel.

A

False. Ibliss was always from the jinn kind.
However, when Allah spoke of the “malaa’ika” (angels), He included Ibliss among them because he happened to be a good creature at that time.

Q

Ibliss/Shaytan refused to prostrate before Adam AS. True or false ?
Why ?

A

True, out of arrogance. Ibliss told Allah swt that he’s better than Adam AS since he was created from fire, and that he will lead astray Adam’s progeny. Ibliss was kicked out of Paradise.

Q

What was Hawwa’ created from ?

A

Adam felt lonely in Jannah, he used to ask Allah swt for company. Allah thus created Hawwa’ from Adam (from Adam’s rib according to a hadith). When he asked her why she was created, she answered him “to give you comfort/company/solace”.

Q

True or false ?
Adam and his wife (Hawwa’) ate from the forbidden tree while under the influence of Shaytan ?

A

True.
Remember: Ibliss was kicked out of Paradise. However, he’s still able to communicate even from a great distance (even from the outside of Jannah). Some say there was a snake from the army of Ibliss that communicated with the couple. Allak knows best. Please note that a specific fruit is not mentioned in the Qur’an.

(+ We must not blame Adam or Hawwa’ since all of it was already decreed 😊)

16
Q

Allah swt forgave Adam and Hawwa’ AS right away after they uttered some words. What did they say ?

A

They made istighfar (asked for forgiveness)

17
Q

There are four things required when we want to ask for Allah’s forgiveness. What are they ?

A
  1. To recognize the sin
  2. To regret committing the sin
  3. To ask Allah to forgive it
  4. To promise not to do it again

When these four conditions are met, nobody else than Allah needs to know your sin

18
Q

On what day of the week was Adam created and granted entry into Jannah ?

19
Q

True or false ?
Allah showed all of us humans to Adam AS before sending him to Earth and announced him we are his progeny.

20
Q

When sent to Earth, where did Adam AS land ? Where did Hawwa’ AS land ?

A

Adam AS: In a place where present-day Sri Lanka is.
Hawwa’ AS: Where modern-day Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) is.

21
Q

Where did they meet after being sent to Earth ?

A

Some say they met at a place called Mount ‘Arafa which is near Mecca (modern-day Saudi Arabia).

*Yes, it is indeed the place where pilgrims gather during Hajj :)

22
Q

How many children did Adam and Hawwa’ AS have ?

A

There is no exact number mentioned in the Qur’an or in the hadith. Some say between 20 and 40 pairs of twins or more. Allah knows best.

22
Q

Name two well-known sons of Adam AS

A

Qabil (Cain) and Habil (Abel)

23
Q

True or false ?
Qabil was know to be handsome, and Habil was known to be less attractive

A

False.
Qabil was not very attractive, and Habil was handsome. At some point, Qabil was so envious of his brother that he murdered him. He then regretted committing this sin.

24
What animal did Allah swt send to bury Habil ?
A crow. Because of all the regret, Qabil buried his brother and went far away from the rest of the family.
25
At some point, Adam AS was ill. He wished for fruits that he had previously eaten in Heaven. Allah told him to go to a certain place where he would find "something". Adam AS was fragile, so he sent his children. What did they find there ?
A group of angels. They all walked back to Adam AS, and Adam and Hawwa' AS recognized the angel of death. Adam AS passed away happily because he knew he was going back to Heaven and his Master.
