Phenomenon of people following the crowd.
What illusion does the Bandwagon technique create?
Creates the illusion of widespread support for a particular thing or idea. thus exerting peer pressure on other individuals to join in
Name Calling
Technique to undermine the reputation of competitng products, ideas or instituitions using negative language or imagery against them
Glittering Generaltiries
Advertising technique which used slogans or visuals to appeal to people imagination, senses and emotion, but often lack factual or detailed support
Card Stacking
Involved presenting positive facts for a product while omitting or downplaying its negatuve aspects
Plain Folks
Propoganda technique which presents ordinary people to mirror the target audience, aiming to gain their trust and build reliability amongst the general populous
Transfer (propoganda technique)
Links emotions and feelings associated with estabalished products to a new product or idea, in an attempt to build familiarity and persuade individuals to like the new product.
Inclusion - Exclusion
The addition of falsified info or stats to inflate the reputation of a product and also deliberately hiding other key facts about a product

Nike Celebrity endoresements - Nike uses atheltes like Michael Jordan, Ronaldo and Serena Williams to promite its products. They sign lifelong deals with these players to ensure that they are associated with only their brand

Spotify’s Annual Musiv recap called Wrapped was a marketing technique which allowed users to track their musical journey and share with their other friends, encouraging non Spotify users to also download the app for this feature. After its implementation this feature made Spotify the worlds most streamed platform and competitors also started to do the same
