Protein synthesis is the process where a DNA strand in the nucleus is used to produce a functioning protein in the cytoplasm.

Transcription is the process where a double-stranded helix (DNA) is unwound and unwinded by an enzyme RNA polymerase in the nucleus to expose the nitrogen bases.

A
The translation is the (second step in the protein synthesis) process that occurs in the cytoplasm. Where ribosomes read the mRNA strand to produce a functioning protien.
