Q

describe peptide bond formation

A

It is between the amine group of one amino acid and the carboxyl group of another where the OH group and the H group of either bond together to form a H20 molecule release. This frees up the bond between the carbon atom and a nitrogen atom where they will bothe bond together this bond is called a peptide bond

Q

What is the secondary structure of a protein

A

-hydrogen bonds form beteeen =o and -h of nearby peptide bonds
-these Hydrogen bonds pull the primary structure into an alpha helix or a beta pleated sheet
