What are the effects of enzyme inducers on Cytochrome P450
An enzyme inducer will increase P450 enzyme activity
What effect will increasing cytochrome P450 have on drug concentrations
Increasing Cytochrome P450 will decrease drug concentrations as it will increase the rate which the drug is broken down.
What is 1 FTU? (fingertip units)
1 FTU is the amount of medication needed to squeeze a line from the tip of an adult finger to the first crease of the finger, and provides enough to treat one side of both hands.
How long before surgery do you stop Combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP) and hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?
4 weeks before surgery
