Give two causes of Schizoprhrenia and details of each.

A
  1. brain abnormalities - often abnormal activities in multiple regions of the brain - ex. frontal lobe- messes with critical thinking - and the interconnections between the different parts of the brain - ex. out of sync nuerons - and an excess of dopamine receptors. (can be due to prenatal infection - weakened cells –> reduced synaptic connections) 2. genetic factors - higher risk for this disorder if a family member has it. - specific genes may predispose children - ex. genes which affect the development of receptors, nuerotransmitters, and the mylon shieth. *** prenatal factors can also increase the odds of this development of turn on said genes.
