Q

What is a counter to Billett’s twin study?

A

MZ twins share 100% of their DNA yet the probibility of having OCD if their twin has it isn’t 100% which suggests genes aren’t the only thing that causes OCD

Q

What is the weakness of the Biological Approach for OCD?

A

according to the diathesis stress model environmental factors activate genes that are related to disorders
this is supported by Cromer who found that in his study over half of his OCD participants experienced a traumatic event and the more severe their OCD the more traumatic events they experienced
this suggest Biological approach may be reductionist
