A mucolytics that breaks DNAase and is used in CF

First gen anti H1… can cause side effects by working on what system?
Muscarininc receptors and alpha (like vision issue, dry mouth, urine retention and GI issue)
Peusoephedrine and phenylephrine. What’s are they, their MOA?
Alpha agonists and both decongestants. The former causes a lot of SNS side effects….. almost meth like.
What is guaifenesin?
Expectorant. Increases volumes of resp secretion and helps make it easier to cough up
Can opioids be used as cough suppressants?
Yes
Opioids are used as cough suppressants… why do we avoid them in asthma and COPD
Because we need the cough in these illnesses! In lung cancer, we dont so much, so its more used there.
What is dextromethorphan?
Cough suppressant (opioid like).
