What is quality management?
A discipline for ensuring the outputs, benefits and processes by which they are delivered, meet stakeholder requirements and are fit for purpose.
What is quality planning?
Establishes the objectives and requirements for quality and lays out the activities for the application of the quality system.
Quality approach for the whole project is defined in the project quality plan (part of the PMP).
What is quality control?
Ensuring that products meet the quality criteria specified. It is about examining deliverables and products to determine that they meet requirements.
What is the difference between quality planning and quality control?
Quality planning is proactive at the beginning of a project that identifies the standards. Quality control is reactive that occurs during the execution of the project - conducting inspections and tests.
