What is BSI
British standards institution. Exp. BS 8888 which is the standard for drawings and geometric products
What is CE
European conformity. This shows that a product confers with health, safety, and environmental protection.
What is ISO
international organisation for standardisation. This is used within the international market. Exp. ISO9001 which is the standard for quality management systems
Engineering bodies
Engineering bodies oversee the registration of graduate and professional engineers and govern the conduct and practice of registered engineers to ensure public safety.
IET
institution of engineering and technology. Provide specialist advice to the UK government and other organisations that require engineering expertise
IMechE
institution of mechanical engineers, supports and oversees mechanical engineers across the world, equipping them with knowledge and skills
SOE
society of operations engineers, the regulatory body for mainlanders engineers and technicians who inspect, maintain and manage equipment .

QA
quality assurance. A management methodology used by organisations to prevent defects in manufacturing products.( focused on providing confidence that quality requirements will be fulfilled prevention
QC
quality control. A corrective tool used to ensure that manufactured products meet accepted standards. (Focused on fulfilling QR) detection
TQM
Total quality management. Aims to detect and reduce errors.they do this by:
