-as a basic survival aid in a remote area. Use to chop wood for fires and shelter, dig for roots, cut vines, etc

Carried primarily for the use during firefighting to protect your hands/arms from heat.

It is recommended not to as wearing heat resistant gloves will affect your dexterity.
