What is cross representation?

Professional APCs can capture exogenous antigen and present in via MHC class I.
Purpose?
Cross-priming: the activation of CD8+ T cells with antigen that has been presented through cross presentation. Cross priming describes the naive cytotoxic CD8+ T cell stimulation.
