set the denominator=0 and whichever crosses out is the hole

set the denominator=0 and whichever does not cross out is the asymptote
How do we write vertical asymptotes
Is vertical up and down or side to side?
up and down
Is horizontal up and down or side to side?
side to side
How do we find horizontal asymptotes
look at the degree of the numerator and denominator
If the numerator has a larger degree what is the horizontal asymptote?
there is none
If the denominator has a larger degree what is the horizontal asymptote?

divide the leading coefficients
