What are the capabilities of the FN-16 IAW the REDBOOK?
- 5000m MER
- 13,000ft max ALT
- IR and UV homing
- PK is greater than 90%
Explain the difference in the recon assets/usage between the light, medium and heavy CABs:
Light:
- Equipment = 4x CSK-141, GS radars and radio direction finders
- Usage = Less likely at accept decisive engagement
Medium:
- Equipment = 4x ZBL-08, GS radars, radio direction finders and CH-802 UAV
- Usage = Up too 50kms ahead w/ ZBL-08 able to conduct ambush and raids
Heavy:
- Equipment = 4x ZBD-04, GS radars and radio direction finders
- Usage = Up too 50kms ahead w/ ZBD-04 able to conduct ambush and raids
Explain the key items used by the special forces brigade:
Each batallion has:
- 12x FN-16
- 24x ultralight ACFT
- 24x CH-802 MAV (30km, 2.5hrs)
- 24x Zodiacs
When defensively postured, how does the EN split up the battlefield into seperate zones and what assets are within them?
Deep area
- Is furthest away from EN support and likely beyond their front line, SF units only, plain clothes below detection threshold
Frontal Blocking
- If effectively a well hidden screening force providing early warning, ZBL-08 delay + FN-16 ambushes
Frontal Defense
- Holds the main defense forces, with significantly developed battle positions IOT funnel FF into an “annihilation zone”
Depth Defense
- Behind the main defense, artillery lines, holds reserve/counter attack assets e.g. ZTZ-96
During ROBC, which defensive zone will we boe operating within and what assets/actions can we generally expect?
Deep Zone
- Expect SOF elements unlikely to break cover unless presented with a juicy TGT e.g. an attack helicopter
- Likely tasked conduct recon and avoid engagement
Frontal Blocking Zone
- “Green force” recon assets that will harass and disrupt if bypassed
- Likely to setup ambushes for both ground and air assets (FN-16)
Throughout:
- TCA (Insurgents)
- Tantoco Cartel
