Redemption
making up for wrongs.
How do churches help Catholics to worship? 2 reasons
- They to provide a space where they can meet to worship together.
- And to provide space for individual prayer.
How was the Catholic Church built before 1965?
-The church was in the shape of a cross which reminds us that Jesus died on the cross.
- it faced east towards Jerusalem, which is where Jesus died and rose again.
- it had the alter against the east wall and the masses were spoken in Latin.
How are Catholic churches built after 1965?
- they were built to ensure that many more people as possible can join in with the mass.
- and the altar is at the centre of the church at which makes the congregation sit around the altar.
Lectern
Is where the reader stand from where the Bible readings are given.
Crucifix
Is a model or image of a cross where Jesus crucified on it.
Tabernacle
Is a box where the consecrated bread is kept after the mass.
Altar
Is the place of the sacrifice from where the bread and wine are offered to God at mass.
What did Jesus show when he died?
It showed that Jesus’s has totalObedience. to the Father.

Salvation
Being saved (or freed) from sin. (Going to heaven)
Metaphor
A figure of speech that helps explain an idea.
What does the cross remind us?
It reminds us that it brought salvation and it restored the relationship between God and Humans.
What does the tree created?
It created the need for salvation caused by the broken relationship between God and Humans.
Conscience
Is the voice of God in people’s hearts,guiding them to make the right choices.
Give 2 reasons of how our conscience can guide us to salvation?
- Natural instincts-we instinctively know the right thing to do ( Natural law).
- Needs to be educated - shaped, developed so we interpret in correctly (listening to others,church teachings, and the Bible) and so on.
What do Catholics believe that mass is ?
The source and summit of life.

(Beginning of christian life).
Summit
( aim of christian life). The mass is a re - enactment of christ’s sacrifice, so its the highest form of prayer.
How does the offertory reflects the understanding of redemption
Because people present bread ( the hosts) and wine to God as a sign of Thanksgiving.
How does the Liturgy of the world reflects the understanding of redemption
Because it is used through God’s words, actions which heals and restored all people through the years.
The fall
When Adam and Eve changed from obedience to God to disobedience by eating forbidden fruit in the garden of eden.
Original sin
Catholic teaching that the fall caused all people to be born with a Tendency to commit sin ( reject God’s will).
