Why were people unhappy with the Catholic Church in the 1500s? (5)
A
- the reach could buy their way to heaven with indulgence letters even though they had done terrible things but the poor could because they dint have money.
- heretics were executed and it wasn’t fair
- the catholic church made peasants pay taxes that they couldn’t afford even tough the church was very rich
- ordinary people were forbbiden from reading the Bible.
- the Bible was written in latin ana very few people could understand it

Who was Martin Luther?
A
He was a former (german) monk who became heretic and wrote the 95 theses where he wrote his doubts about the catholic church and criticisied (1517). He hung them in the local church in Wittenburg.

A
95 reasons written by Martin Luther that summarised many of his criticisms of the Catholic Church.

What is Reformation?
A
The split of the church into catholic and protestant and a movement in the 16th century which led to the founding of Protestanism. A protestant is a type of cristan whose beliets are different from those of catholics.
