    - Token economy: prisoners earn tokens which can be exchanged for leisure activities or items
  2. Left realism
    - Education programs: a lack of education and inequality in education causes crime so the programs help to create equality and reduce crime in the future

What criticisms are there of rehabilitation?

A
  1. Right realists see rehab as unsuccessful as around 50% re-offend again
  2. Marxists criticise rehabilitation for pushing the blame onto the offender’s failings
  3. Limited resources and budgets
  4. Requires active engagement and if an offender doesn’t engage then it doesn’t work
