What are the indications for renal biopsy?

A
  • Intrinsic/ Renal AKI (exclusion of pre/post renal)
  • (but not diabetes + HTN)
  • Nephrotic syndrome
  • Haematuria and non-nephrotic range proteinuria without signficant rise in creatinine

What are the most common causes of Nephrotic syndrome?

A

Mostt common primary

  1. Minimal change disease
  2. FSGS (Focal Segmenttal gloerulosclerosis)
  3. Memranous GN

Systemic diseases
1. Diabetes
2. Amyloidosis

What does hypercellularity on renal biopsy signify?

A

Usually glomerulanephritis results in hypercellulariy

Depending on location s different ares –> Mesangial cells? (cells bvetween capiliaries)
Endocapillary? Capillary Wall?

Bowmans space?= Crescents
