Q

what are some of the reasons people show resistance to social influence through locus of control

A
  • internals are more likely to be active seekers of information that is useful to them. less likely to rely on the opinions of others making less vulnerable to SI
  • tend to be more achievement orientated and become leaders
  • better able to resist coercion than externals
  • more likely to see consequences of behaviour as their own responsibilty so will not blindly obey or conform as they believe they will still be responsible for their actions
