What are resources ?
Anything that is present in our environment is useful economically feasible technologically accessible and culturally accessible.
What is the relationship between humans and resource ?
Humans make resources by combining technology institutions and nature.
What is the classification of resources based on origin ?
I) Biotic - living
Eg - Human resource
II) Abiotic - non living
Eg - sunlight, wind , water , etc
What is the classification of resources based on exhaustibility
Renewable - Non exhaustible
Eg- wind energy , solar energy , etc
Non - renewable energy - exhaustible
Eg- fossil fuels, wood , etc
What is the classification of resources based on ownership?!
Individual resource - private property.
Eg- houses , plots,etc
Community owned - group of peoples property.
Eg- colony gardens, Parks, SMC ground, etc
Nation owned - country owned
Eg - roads highway etc
International owned property - whole world’s property.
Eg- Ocean 🌊 resources
What is the classification of resources based on development?
Potential resources are resources that exist in an area but haven’t been fully utilized or explored yet
Developed - the quality and quantity has been surved for utilisation
Stock - Stock is the resource for which presently, we don’t have any technology to extract them.
Reserve resources are resources that are known to exist and are economically viable to extract using current technology and market conditions, but are not currently being extracted
What problem can occur due to indiscriminate use of resources
- Depletion of resources for satisfying human greed
- accumulation of resources in the hands of few which in turn divides the society
- Exploitation has led to global ecological crisis such as global warming ozone layer depletion and environmental pollution
