What is the physiology of the respiratory system?
A
The function of the respiratory system is gas exchange. This gas exchange consists of O2 from the atmosphere and removing CO2 from the blood.

Describe the different types of respiratory emergencies.
A
Asthma, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, tuberculosis, pulmonary hypertension.

What is the role of the CCMA in a respiratory emergency?
A
The PASTE assessment, provocation and progression, associated chest pains, sputum/speech, exercise tolerance. Auscultate the breath sounds.
