What is Logos
the use of logic and reason to persuade an audience. Appeal that uses facts, data, and logical reasoning.
What is Pathos?
is a rhetorical device that appeals to the audience’s emotions, aiming to evoke feelings that can influence their opinions or actions.
Why is pathos not used in argument writing
the argument will be more opinionated and less factual
What are the basic components of an argument essay
The thesis/claim, evidence, reasoning, and counterclaim turnback offer a solution.
How do arguments acknowledge different perspectives and address
them?
By doing a counterclaim/ addressing the other side and offering a solution.

To persuade or argue, to inform or explain, to entertain.
Fiction signposts
Tough question-what is the main character so troubled over, Aha moment-main character has a big realization, Memory moment- flash back more than a paragraph, theme, Again3- word/phrase that happens over and over again symbolism, Conflict contrast- main character conflict internally external positive or negative. word of the wise supporting character gives advice to main character. significant setting- important setting, Whoa important info not one of the other signposts.
