outline the steps when applying a pressure bandage?

A
  • marke bit site before applying bandage
  • apply sterile dressing and mark site on bandage
  • do not wash or wipe bite site
  • apply pressure bandages as firmly as you would a sprained ankle
  • bandage distal to proximal
  • apply as far up limb as possible to compress lymphatic vessels
  • apply splint to restrict movement
  • keep limb and person as still as possible
