RIGHT TO VOTE.

A

POINT - POINT - One of the rights and responsibilities individuals have in Scotland’s democracy is the right to vote.
EXPLAIN - In Scotland you can register and uses your vote if you are over the age of 16 in Scottish elections but you have to be over the age of 18 to vote in UK elections.
EXAMPLE - For example, the recent 2021 Scottish election had the highest turn out of people voting.

RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH.

A

POINT - Another of the rights and responsibilities individuals have in Scotland’s Democracy is the right to free speech.
EXPLAIN - A responsibility of this would be don’t use hate speech.
EXAMPLE - For example, the bill form offensive behavior at football matches and threatening communications bill became an act on the 19th of April 2018 in Scotland.

A

POINT - An additional right and responsibility individuals have in Scotland’s democracy is the right to protest.
EXPLAIN - A responsibility individuals have is to obey the law when protesting.
EXAMPLE - For example, in 2020 the Black Lives Matter protest happened all over the UK after the death of an African-America George Floyd who was shot by a police officer in America.
