Receiving a firearm
A
Identify safe direction, finger off the trigger, safety selector on safe, physical visual 1, physical visual 2 - weapon is clear.

Before passing
A
Dont take anyone’s word that a firearm is unloaded, inspect yourself. Only pass or accept a firearm, muzzle pointed in a safe direction, action open and not loaded.

If unsure
A
If you cannot open or clear a firearm safe, leave it alone. Stay clear of muzzle.

Someone else’s firearm
A
Ask them to show you it is unloaded and safe.
