How do you work out total amounts using ratio?
Workout the value of one part. Find the total number of parts by adding the ratio together then times the total number of part by the value of one part.
How do you workout inverse proportion?
Start by working out the value of one part by multiplying the amount by how long it would take then divide the time it would take by how many there are.
Formula for working out an amount
Number of objects= amount there are x time it needs to be done by
How do you work out speed?
Time/ distance
How do you work out time?
Speed/distance
How do you work out distance?
Time x speed
How do you work out density?
Volume/weight
How do you workout volume?
Density/weight
How do you work out weight?
Volume x density
Using volume as part of a bigger calculation
Convert all sides into CM, times the weight, height and length together to find the volume of the object, use that answer and divide it by the original volume.
How do you workout the volume of prisms and cylinders?
Work out the area of the base times by the length.
Cylinders base- Radius squared x pi (3.14)x length
How do you work our the area of a circle ?
Radius squared x pi(3.14)
How to work out the estimated mean for grouped data?
Total frequency/(midpointxfrequency) Total= mean
