Ciprofloxacin

Indications for antibiotic tx for salmonella?
A
Only if infection is invasive or severe or risk of developing invasive infection (immunocompromised, haemoglobinopathy, children under 6months)

Salmonella symptoms? When do symptoms begin
A
Diarrhea, fever, abdo cramps
Sx start 6hrs to 6 days after infection and last 4-7 days
