Evaluate reliability in diagnosis and classification
(Reliable over time)
Beck et al found a 54% concordance rate between practitioners in 1962 while soderberg reported 81% when using the dsm5 in 2005 suggesting they have become more reliable over time.
Evaluate reliability in diagnosis and classification
(Test retest)
Read et al reported test-retest reliability of sz to only have 37% concordance rate. They also found a study where a mix of British and American practitioners provided a diagnosis on a case description. 69% of the Americans diagnosed sz but only 2% of British suggesting diagnosis is unreliable
Evaluate reliability in diagnosis and classification
(Jackobsen)
Jackobsen tested the reliability of the ICD10. 100 Danish patients with a history of psychosis were assesed with a 98% concordance. Demonstrating a high reliability of clinical diagnosis using up to date classification
Evaluate reliability in diagnosis and classification
(Anxiety)
Reliability of sz diagnosis is assesed at 81% superior to anxiety disorders at 63%. Reliability of sz diagnosis is generally considered superior to validity
