4
Q

What is the RNT exception rule?

A

Typically when the surface interval between 2 dives is short

When residual decompression time is more than what is needed

Aquire decompression time using traditional method
THEN
Calculate total bottom time for both dives, take the deeper depth and recompute table and schedule. Take the shorter decompression time between the two methods. If the second method is used, this is considered the RNT exception rule

Q

Can a diver make a scuba dive following a mk16 dive within a 18 hour period?

A

Yes, as long as it was an N2O2 dive.

Just use the RNT designator from the dive method completed and enter that into the new dive method surface interval table

Distance line - greater than 10 feet but less than 100

17
Q

How often are air samples completed?

A
  • between 4-8 months
  • contamination is suspected
  • after system overhaul
18
Q

Strain reliefs married to charging hoses will be made from what type material and married at what interval?

A
  • Chain, cable, 21-thread, 3/8 nylon
  • married with 1/8 inch nylon or equivalent every 18 inches
19
Q

When must over bottoms be checked and what are they set to for SRDDs regulators?

A
  • Prior to each dive
  • 123 psi
20
Q

What must be used in poor visibility during buddy diving

A

Buddy line and or tending line

21
Q

When using externally powered tool with SCUBA, what must a diver have?

A

An ANU approved tool and grounding equipment

22
Q

What is the charging rate for SCUBA?

A
  • 200 psi/min dry
  • 400 psi/min wet
23
Q

List all line pull signals

24
Q

What is required to be briefed prior to splashing a SCUBA diver?

A
  • Mission/plan
  • Address any questions
  • Med plan
  • EPs
  • Abort Criteria
  • Pre-dive checks (min equipment)
25
What are the limitations for conducting SCUBA operations at altitude?
* No correction for dives between 0 and 300 * Correction required between 0 and 1000 for depths >145 * Greater than 1000 requires correction for all depths
