Structure of the internet
It is a massive network of computers. Links between countries are are done by trans-continental internet connections

What internet registries do
Hold records and issue registered domain names. Also keep track of which DNS’s map to which IP addresses
How the DNS system works
When a website is requested using a URL, a request is sent for the IP address to the local DNS. If the local DNS does not contain the address then the search is extended up the hierarchy until it is found

What is a fully qualified domain name
The host server name + the website domain name
IP address
A unique address that is assigned to a network device
