1531 - 1st offence whipped 2nd offence hole in the ear 3rd offence hung

A

Bridal palace was used as a shelter for the poor
Bedlam hospital was built for the mentally ill
Other hospitals were opened for sick and orphans

From 1528 master beggar was appointed to keep others in order
If the poor refused to work they were sent to a house of correction (jail)
